Why would you consider getting composite veneers? And perhaps travel to Finland to a unknown dentist to get a new smile... Well, I will try my best to convince you that it would be a good investment to yourself and a great value for the money.
First of all I would like to tell you a little bit of myself. I graduated from Helsinki University back in 2009 and have been a private dentist in Helsinki since, for more than 15 years. At the moment I practice cosmetic dentistry only. My days are filled mainly with Composite veneers and with some Invisalign.
I have travelled around the world to learn more about different techniques and materials used in modern cosmetic dentistry. It has lead me to do Accreditations to both the British and the American Academies of Cosmetic dentistry. Accreditation is world wide the closest thing to a specialist degree in Cosmetic dentistry. It shows the patient that the doctor has got the skills to offer treatments of the highest standards. When you look at my Google reviews, getting 200+ 5 star reviews is a result from happy patients and would not happen the service and treatment outcomes are not good.
I also lecture internationally and offer courses for dentists. Since 2018 I have held 14 hands-on courses to dentists about Composite restorations with different techniques in the Scandinavian region. I also lecture regularly to dental students, hygienists, doctors and online about different areas of Cosmetic dentistry from treatment planning and dental photography to teeth bleaching and veneers.

To keep it simple: Non-invasive treatment.
You have all seen those "Turkey teeth" drilled down like shark teeth. It makes no sense practicing cosmetic dentistry that way! If you drill teeth that much, there will inevitably bee problems in the near future. First they will become sensitive, then when you see a dentist, you will hear that some of those teeth will need root canal treatments due to excess drilling... And if those root canal treatments fail in the next few years the only option is extraction of that tooth and maybe replacement by an Implant... Imagine the amount of problems if you have had 20 crowns done. Not worth it.
In the past we really didn´t have any options for veneers except porcelain. Now the composite materials have been developed to a point where they offer an option for ceramic / porcelain veneers. This is purely additive cosmetic dentistry, meaning we keep all of your own tooth structure unharmed. No one knows what kind of restorative materials there will be after the next 10-20 years.. You don´t have to wait until then, you can do something now and those teeth will be healthy when you decide to replace these veneers sometime in the distant future.
But how long do veneers made with this technique last? From my experience 10-15 years, I have seen old composite veneers that have lasted a lot longer. Basically there are two things that affect the longevity of these materials. Biting forces and bacterias (plaque). If we protect the veneers against the night time grinding with a retainer and have a proper flossing technique with the right kind of floss, there is no reason why veneers made with this technique, would not last longer.
This technique is not easy to master. That is why there are not that many dentists in the word providing this kind of service. Because this is additive dentistry, we rarely do one or two teeth. We need to make 8-10 to make the added volume disappear to the smile. Each veneer is done using 11 different shades of composite material. First we build a "blank canvas" with a couple different shades to have an even color to all treated teeth. Then we add details and the 3D effects by using a cutback tecnnique. The end result and color is custom made according to your wishes!
You are a good candidate for this kind of treatment if:
- Your teeth are a bit small or have small gaps between them, but still relatively straight and you would like to have more volume to your smile
- You have already tried teeth whitening but did not get the result you wanted
- You have already done Invisalign / orthodontic treatment but are not completely happy with the outcome
This might not be the right treatment for you if:
- You want to straighten crooked or crowded teeth with veneers.
- Teeth are straight and you only want to have 1-4 veneers done
- You already have big or flared teeth. This is additive dentistry.

Teeth need to be clean and healthy. Normal dental hygienist cleaning visit is a must before arriving to the treatment. If you are traveling to Finland for the treatment, this can be done in your home country. 1-2 weeks before is ok.
Treatment time in Espoo clinic is Wednesday - Friday
Wednesday 15:00 - 18:00. Photos, impressions and discussing about the details of the veneers. Examination of the bite and small adjustments if needed.
Thursday 9:00 - 15:00. Making of the veneers (to 8 - 10 teeth). You can "test-drive" the shape of your new veneers and test the speech during the evening before finishing.
Friday 9:00 - 15:00. Modifying the veneers according to your wishes before adding the 3D details and preferred color with the cutback technique. Taking impressions for the retainer (upper teeth) and custom whitening tray (lower teeth).
If possible I always like to follow the longevity of the treatment outcome with annual check up appointments.
The cost of the treatment is 7000€ (2025). This includes:
- 10 custom made non-invasive composite veneers to upper teeth, Veneers are made of 11 different shades / tints of composite material.
- Clear retainer for night time use protecting the veneers
- Whitening tray + whitening gels to lower teeth.
If veneers are only done to 8 teeth then the price is 6000€
Payment of 1500€ is required 2 weeks before the treatment to secure a 48h time slot Wednesday 15:00 - Friday 15:00. We have to charge this before because we are putting time aside for the treatment. If for some reason the patient does not show up, we have running costs and 48 of free chair time we probably cannot fill right away. This payment will not be refunded.
5500€ (if 10 teeth are done, 4500 with 8 teeth) will have to be paid Thursday 15:00 the latest. You will find more Payment options from Resurs Bank here.
